Dinner at Fringale, San Francisco, CA
Fringale is our favorite French bistro in San Francisco, and as far as flavor goes, it never fails. Service is generally very good as well. This time we had to remind our waiter that we had ordered wine, but he generously gave us each a glass on the house while we finished our appetizers and he went to fetch the bottle that we had ordered.
Calamari a la Plancha $10
Perfectly tender calamari with chorizo, olives, roasted red peppers and micro greens. So good.
Ribeye with Red Wine Butter $23
The steak just cooked just how I wanted it (medium rare, but on the rarer side) and the green beans were tender and nicely salted. Usually we eat the fried just for the homemade mayonnaise at Fringale, but sadly, they were out. They did graciously bring us the sauce below, which was a spicy mayo with capers and it was quite good. It's says something about the quality of a place when they will only bring you mayo if it is homemade...

This was actually a bit disappointing and Giao beleives the mussles made him sick.
