Dinner at Home
Balsamic Rosemary Chicken with Sauteed Zuchinni
The chicken was a tad dry, as we used white meat instead of dark, but the bite size pieces were tasty. Sauteed zuchinni is a good, no-fail veggie side dish.
-3 chicken breasts, sliced in 1/2 inch slices
-2 tb each balsamic and mustard
-1 tb olive oil
-salt and pepper to taste
-3 sprigs fresh rosemary, leaves only, chopped
Mix all ingredients except chicken to make a marinade. Then coat the chicken in the marinade and let marinate for at least 1/2 an hour. Then sautee over medium high until cooked through.
Zuchinni:
-4 large zuchinni, halved and sliced
-salt and pepper to taste
Simply sautee the zuchinni over medium heat in a bit of olive oil until tender and browned.

Hot Dog $1.50
The Costco hot god has got to be the best deal around. A polish sausage with all the toppings and a drink for less than $2. Amazing.

Dinner at Scott Howard, San Francisco, CA
Crispy Squash Blossoms with Goat Cheese and Tomato Sauce $8
Tasty, but not as sublte and light as you expect squash blossoms to be. The tomato sauce overpowered the other ingredients just a bit. Still, you can't go wrong with fried cheese.
Raw Scallops $12
Very, very good. The sweet flavor of the scallops melted in our mouths and the texture was perfect as well.
Short Ribs with Horseradish Creamed Spinach, Fried Onions and Tomato Jus $22
The ribs were cooked sous so they were very tender. I couldn't really taste the horseradish in the greens, but overall, the dish was very good.
Venison $24
This tender venison was also served with a tomato based sauce. It was tasty, and beautifully plated.
Orzo Mac n' Cheese with Tomato Jam $5
The cheese sauce was a bit grainy and containted too much flour, but the tomato jam added a nice acidity that cut through the fat in the dish.

Lunch at Tlaloc, San Francisco, CA
Carnitas Plate
This is an appetizer usually served with tortillas, but Alexis ordered it with a side of guacamole and it was pretty tasty.
Shrimp Ceviche
This was composed predominantly of diced veggies, with a few shrimp thrown in, but overall, it was very tasty.

A very good piece of meat and the creamed spinach, while horrible for you, is very tasty.

Lunch from Le Regency, San Francisco, CA
This was a strange cobb salad, it had chopped lunch meat, carrots, cabbage, etc. It was not entirely bad though--there was lots of bacon.

Grilled Baby Octopus $12
The octopus were tender, but there were only 2 of them, and the main flavor profile was salt.
Clams with Serrano Ham and Chili-White Wine Sauce $12
A bit scrawny, but they were pretty tasty. The sauce and ham was pretty good.
Brined Pork Tenderloin with White Beans $14
The pork was a bit salty and dry, and the beans were a bit undercooked. This dish was better in concept than in actuality.
Lamb and Fig Tagine $15
A large portion for a decent price. This was actually very good. The meat was tender and flavorful.

Lunch at Work
Salmon Salad
A tasty, quick, weekday lunch.
-3 tb mayo
-juice of 1/2 lemon
-2 tb capers
-1/2 onion, diced
-pepper to taste
Mix all ingredients together thoroughly and eat alone, in a sandwich, or over fresh greens. You don't need to add salt because the capers impart their saltiness to the salmon already.

Lunch at Yank Sing, San Francisco, CA
Dumplings
These were horrid. Totally inedible. What was in them, we'll never know, but it was incredibly bitter and the texture was very mushy.
Bacon Wrapped Shrimp
It's for items like these that we keep returning to Yank Sing, despite the expense. These are delicious, especially with the length of sauteed scallion that is also wrapped up in the bacon.

Turkey, Brie, Apple and Honey Mustard on a Baguette $6.50
A pretty good deal for airport food. We ate the filling from the sandwich, then used the bread for our pate, below, which turned out to be a delicious snack.
