Dinner at Oola, San Francisco, CA

div style="text-align: center;">
Homemade Pork Sausage with Roasted Cherry Tomatos, Cilantro and Parmasean $12
Very fresh tasting. Each bite was better with the tomato than without. The aciditiy was necessary.

Seared Tuna with Hearts of Palm, Radish Slices and Fingerling Potato Chips $10
Very yummy, as always. Although I do feel bad about eating the environment-destroying hearts of palm--although I guess not bad enough to stop eating them.

Lam Daube with Rack of Lamb and Tiny Vegetables $28
Tasty, but hardly original.

Lunch from Zao, San Francisco, CA

Yet another mediocre catered lunch at work. This time it was Zao's Noodle House. Needless to day, with our low carb diet, it was hard to find something at a noodle house.

Kung Pao Chicken
Much too sweet and the chicken bits were a very weird shape.

Diced Chicken in Lettuce Cups
Also way too sweet.

Chicken Salad
The worst of both worlds--soggy "crunchy" bits and wilted lettuce.

Chicke Satay
This was decent. The chicken was moist and the peanut dipping sauce was not too sweet.

Steak Salad
Not nearly enough steak and despite the fact that it was called a salad, the steak what sitting on a bed of noodles (and a little cabbage).

Crispy and served with a nice little salad.

A porkchop, a banger and a steak with some fries and baked beans. Decent.

Jalapeno Poppers $4.50
Gluttonous goodness.

Lunch at Aqua, San Francisco, CA

Aqua's food was much improved since Giao's last visit in November.

Celery Root Soup ($13)
The Truffle flan, frog legs and shrimp were presented first, and then the celery root poured over. Just amazing.

Seared Foie Gras with grapes and smoked duck
Though a standard preperation, the foie gras was perfectly seared.

Cheese Plate
Sorry I can never remember the specific names, but the blue on the right was fantastic.

Dinner at Home

For Valentine's Day we decided to make a super-decadent meal at home rather than try to find a reservation.

Cheese Fondue
Mixture of white cheddar, and other sharp white cheese, white wine, fresh tarragon, thyme and sage.

Garlic bread and veggies for dipping in the cheese.

Steamed Lobster and Crab Legs

Chocolate Fondue
Semisweet chocolate with whiskey.

Strawberries for dipping.

Nectarine, grapes, mango, apple and orange for dipping.

Pineapple for dipping.

Dinner at Costco and Home

Slice of Pizza at Costco $1.50

Pea Leaves with Enoki Mushrooms
Pea leaves are a very labor intensive vegetable that I will never cook again. They tasted fine, but it took me about an hour to pick the leaves off the stalks...

Miso Glazed Salmon

Lunch from Pork Store, San Francisco, CA

Mike's Low Carb Special $8
It needed salt. And Alexis never needs to add salt. Scrambled eggs, sausage, spinach and tomatos.

Pork Chop Special $9
A fried egg, 2 thin pork chops and some soggy hash browns. Yuck.
