Dinner at a Friend's House, San Francisco, CA

A friend had received a package on Omaha Steaks, something none of us had ever tried. Thus, she invited us over for a mail order steak dinner for the Oscars.


Blue Cheese Stuffed Roasted Tomatos
These looked great, but the tomatos were a bit too big and beefy.


Roasted Asparagus and Brussel Sprouts
These were marinated in a lemony vinagrette, then oven roasted. They were quite delicious.


Fish Spread in Celery
These little appetizers had quite a kick.


Cheese and Crackers
You can never go wrong with cheese.


Beet Salad
Alexis doesn't really like beets and Giao is indifferent.


Pan Fried Steaks
A bit tough for filet mignon.


Cognac Cream Sauce
This sauce was rich, but you couldn't really taste the cognac.


Blue Cheese Butter


Shitake Tarragon Cream Sauce
Creamy, mushroomy and delicious. Diced shitakes sauteed in butter, then reduced with cream, pepper and fresh tarragon.
