Dinner at Tsunami, San Francisco, CA
After our last film festival movie, we went for sushi at a place near our friend's house. It was a bit too trendy without the food to back it up. And it was expensive for small portions.
Wakame Salad $5
This was sort of ridiculous. When I order wamake, I want lots of seaweed, not seaweed on greens. Trend over authenticity just doesn't work.
Tuna Carpaccio $13
Covered in 2 kinds of roe, this thinly sliced tuna was actually very good. We couldn't taste the truffle oil that supposedly seasoned the dish.
Ahi Tuna Poke $12
Although tasty, a very small portion and again, served on purposeless mixed greens.
16 Piece Sashimi $30
This was very good. The selection was better than expected and everything was very fresh.
Fried Tofu and Mushroom Appetizer $8
This was very, very good. The mushroom sauce contained enoki and shitakes and provided a nice texture contrast to the crispy fried tofu. The grated daikon added a nice bite.
