The Seabourn Legend: The Restaurant: Soups

We found the soup guy on the Seabourn Legend to be pretty amazing. With a few exceptions, he turned out multiple, amazing soups every day. They were always different, they were very smooth and the flavors were spot on.

White Plum Tomato Soup with Basil Foam
Pure in flavor and very smooth.

Duck Consomme with Steamed Duck and Shrimp Wontons and Shitake Mushrooms
The broth wasn't a knock out, but the wontons were tasty.

Sunchoke Soup with Preserved Lemons
The lemons matched nicely and did not overpower the subtle flavor of the sunchoke, otherwise known as the Jerusalem artichoke.

Spicy Bean Soup
This was actually much better than it sounds. It was actually fairly spicy and seasoned well. It was mostly very smooth with some whole beans floating about.

Double Beef Consomme with Foie Gras and Porcini Ravioli
Giao loves pretty much anything with foie gras, this included. The frozen peas and carrots were a little weird though.

Cauliflower Soup
Super smooth and really, really good. This was also garnished with caviar, which is never a bad thing.

Tomato Soup
Tasted a bit like Campbell’s, but we like Campbell’s so it was ok.

Chicken Consommé with Dumplings
Just so-so. Basically this was chicken broth glorified with a few dumplings.

Artichoke Bisque
Creamy and delicious. The soup guy here is stellar.

Lobster Bisque
This bisque was a tad salty, but very flavorful. It was flambeed with cognac and served with lobster chunks and fresh herbs.
