Brunch from Down Under at South, San Francisco, CA
South had been on our list for a while and we finally decided to try it for brunch. We were not totally sure what to expect in terms of Australian food, but it was hearty, filling and tasty. The service was pleasant and attentive and we bonded with our waitress over a mutual hatred of Yelp.
Toasted Maori Bread with Poached Eggs, Avocado, Asparagus, Parmesan and Tomato Salsa $12
This picture looks really bad, but the dish was actually fresh and tasty. The Maori bread was sort of like a cross between an English Muffin and a scone.
Venison Burger with Beet Chutney $15
The venison was pleasantly gamey and the fries were surprisingly crispy.
